Nencioni, Albert N., 1924-2009.

Born on March 15, 1924 in D.C., he enlisted in the Army on March 27, 1943 at Ft. Meyer, Va. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried and had completed three years of high school. Nencioni joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo., initially as a member of Company L of the 86th Infantry Regiment before serving with Company I of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He was also stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. and Camp Swift, Tex. before being deployed to Italy. Nencioni was wounded in action on April 14, 1945 at Hill 913 near Castel d'Aiano. He attained the rank of sergeant. Nencioni died in Fairfax, Va. on October 23, 2009.
