Wade Hampton Memorial Association (Charleston, S.C.)
Variant namesOrganization began as a committee of twenty-three citizens of Charleston, S.C., for the purpose of establishing a memorial to Gen. Wade Hampton, a native of Charleston. Originally formed as the Committee on the Hampton Memorial, the name was later changed to the Wade Hampton Memorial Association.
