Seattle attorney and civic leader.

John N. Rupp and his law firm, Schweppe, Doolittle, Krug and Tausend, represented Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company for many years. Rupp also served Pacific Northwest Bell as Vice President and General Counsel from 1962 until 1975. From 1956 to 1957, he was president of the Seattle Bar Association, and he served the Washington State Bar Association in the same role from 1966 to 1967. Rupp was a member of the Seattle Transit Commission from 1957 to 1963; he also served on numerous commissions and professional bodies, and on boards of private clubs in Seattle.
