Edythe Ellis of Wilmington, North Carolina, attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNCG) and was a member of the Cornelian Society. During her freshman year she was a member of the Spanish Club, and the College Chorus. Her sophomore year she was a member of the Spanish Club and the College Chorus also. Her junior year she played basketball, was a member of the Pine Needles Staff, Junior-Senior Figure Chairman and Society Dance Chairman. Her senior year she served as Pine Needles Staff, House President, President of the Cornelian Society and Student Activities Committee. She graduated in 1935 with a B.S. degree in Secretarial Administration.
