Mitchell family.
Rev. Justus Mitchell (1754-1806) was born in Woodbury, Conn. He received an A.B. from Yale College in 1776 and was settled as pastor of the Congregational church in Canaan (now New Canaan), Conn. in 1782. In 1779 he married Martha Sherman and they had four children. One of their sons was Minott Mitchell (1784-1862), who received an A.B. from Yale in 1803. He became an attorney and practiced law in White Plains, N.Y.
