The Governor's Commission on the Economic Future of Minnesota was appointed by the governor and first met on December 20, 1985. The 43 member panel was to meet for one year to examine the state's current efforts, assess the future, and recommend actions to ensure that the state would be recognized as a world leader in technological innovation and its commercial application for the benefit of all Minnesotans. The commission, cochaired by Harold W. Greenwood, Jr. and Governor Rudy Perpich, submitted its final report on December 22, 1986.
