Roy, John, Captain.
John Roy was assistant superintendent of construction for the U.S. Custom House in New Orleans and a Confederate captain of artillery in the Civil War. P.G.T. Beauregard served as superintendent of construction for the U.S. Custom House until his resignation in 1861 to accept the position of Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy.
