The Lowe brothers came from Gardenvale, Vic. Alexander Harold Lowe (no. 1053), known as Harold, enlisted on 8 March 1915, served with the 23rd and 24th Battalions, and was repatriated to Australia on 25 Sept. 1919. Initially a Private, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant on 21 Nov. 1917. Born in Scotland, Hugh Mosman Lowe (no. 1053) enlisted on 19 Oct. 1914, served as a Private with the 9th Battalion, and died of wounds on 3 June 1915. He received his fatal injuries at Gallipoli.
