Paul S. Waterman, of Worcester, N.Y., attended Cornell thanks to a Cornell scholarship. Following graduation in 1926, Waterman worked as a clerk in an insurance office in his home town before turning his hand to farming in Maryland, N.Y. Waterman's avocation, however, was as a poet of light, often humorous verse. During his life he self-published a number of volumes of verse beginning with Boy for a Blonde in 1932.
