Roanoke Valley Railroad Company
Incorporated in North Carolina and Virginia in 1851 to build a railroad from Clarksville, Va., to Ridgeway, N.C.; line opened from Manson, N.C., to Clarksville, Va., in 1855; reorganized in the interest of Richmond and Danville Railroad Company (1871-1874) under the same name; reorganized a second time under the same name in 1875.
