Mark W. Lance (b. April 27, 1898, Marshall, N.C.-d. June 17, 1966, St. Augustine, Fla.), U.S. Army officer, began his military career in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the First World War and was released from duty in 1921. He later entered the Florida National Guard as a Captain of Infantry in 1927 and was mobilized for active World War II duty in 1940, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Following the War, General Lance returned to duty with the Florida National Guard and was appointed Adjutant General in 1947.
