Corydon, in Harrison County, Ind., was the first capital of Indiana. Across the street from the state capitol was a brick structure, built in 1817, which housed the offices of the state auditor and treasurer. After the state capital moved to Indianapolis in 1825, the building was used as a seminary and a private residence. In 1988, the building was bought by the state, and the documents in this collection were found there.
