The Illinois State Board of Investment was created in 1969. Responsibilities included managing, investing and reinvesting assets of pension funds under its authoity (P.A.76-1829, pp. 4036-4051). Those funds included General Assembly Retirement System, Policemen's Pension Fund, Firemen's Pension Fund, Policemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund, Friemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Municipal Employee's Officers' and Officials' Annuity and Benefit Fund, County Employees' and Officers' Annuity and Benefit Fund, Forest Preserve District Employees' Annuity and Benefit Fund, Laborers' and Retirement Board Employees' Annuity and Benefit Fund, Park Employees' and Retirement Board Employees' Annuity and Benefit Fund, Sanitary District Employees' and Trustees' Annuity and Benefit Fund, State Employees' Retirement System of Illinois, State Universities Retirement System, Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois, Public School Teachers' Pension and Retirement Fund and Judges Retirement System of Illinois (P.A.77-611, p. 1249).
