The Second U.S. North Greenland Expedition, 1893-1895, lead by Admiral Robert E. Peary set out on expedition on July 26, 1893, towards northern Greenland. The expedition made camp at Inglefield Bredning on the northwest coast of Greenland. On August 20, 1893, the ship Falcon left and the expedition group began attempts onto the ice cap. During these expeditions Peary sought a good place to attempt to reach the North Pole.
