Richard Garnett (1835-1906) was an English man of letters and Keeper of Printed Books at the British Museum. Sir Edmund William Gosse (1849-1928) was an English poet and critic. Together they wrote English literature: an illustrated record. (London: Heinemann, 1903-1906. 4 vols.)
