Founded between 1953 and 1954 as the successor to the Women's League. The Associated Women Students established and enforced standards of conduct for women students; sponsored cultural and social activities; coordinated women's activities on campus; and promoted the development of leadership, good scholarship, and self-responsibility among female students.
