Dr. Henry M. Van Solingen received a medical degree from Queen's College (now Rutgers University) in 1792, and later lived in New York City. He was a member of several professional organizations and served on the board of trustees for the University of the State of New York College of Physicians and Surgeons. He owned several farms in northern Ohio in the early 19th century. He married Henrietta Wynkoop (1775-1860).
