Idaho Conservation League

Hide Profile

The Idaho Conservation League (ICL) was formed in 1973 by a group of concerned Idaho citizens who desired an effective information and coordinating center and a citizens' lobby on conservation and public interest issues. In a little over three years, ICL established itself as one of the most influential non-partisan citizens groups in the Rocky Mountain region. ICL communicates information to their members and the general public through their monthly Newsletter, a statewide telephone network, legislative alerts, and periodic press releases. ICL staff travel extensively around the state, meeting with League members and others and conducting informational programs. The staff researches issues, organizes citizens, and maintains lines of public input into decision-making processes. ICL also has an active volunteer base that observes and reports on legislative activity during the session, prepares and sends the Newsletter, and aids in fund raising. The Idaho Conservation League's members have worked on a myriad of issues and projects and have had many important victories in their efforts to protect and preserve Idaho.
