Howley, Norma.
The Queensland State String Quartet was established by the Queensland State Government ca. 1944 to give free concerts throughout Queensland. It consisted of Don Howley (cello), Harold Taverner (violin), David Powell (viola) and Ernest Llewellyn (violin and leader).
