Fritz was born and raised in Peoria, IL; worked as a reporter for the Chicago evening post and New York daily news before moving to Europe in 1925; lived in London and Paris, and traveled extensively in India and China; settled in Los Angeles in 1939, and became known for her Hollywood salon, which brought together literary and artistic personalities, including many American expatriates; died in 1982.
