The association was established in 1960 through the impetus of Nyle Brady, Head of the Agronomy Dept. at Cornell University to foster better relationships between members of the department and county agents with representatives of the fertilizer and lime industries in New York State. The organizations holds two meetings a year. The Agronomy Dept. has played a major role in planning these meetings and a member of the department has always served as secretary/treasurer of the association.
