Resident of Gillett, Ark.

L.C. Jones (his first name is apparently variously found spelled Lewis as well as Louis) was born May 1858 in Indiana. His father, James A. Jones, was born about 1821 in Ohio. His wife, Armena (Minnie) A. Jones, was born May 1863 in Illinois. They had a daughter, Ruth, who was born Jan. 1888 in Arkansas. Evidence strongly suggests that L.C. Jones was postmaster of Gillett, Ark., under the administration of Pres. Benjamin Harrison. Jones was also a Republican District Convention delegate in 1892.

From the description of L.C. Jones collection, 1878-1906. (Arkansas History Commission). WorldCat record id: 407044840
