Gillespie, Henry La Fayette, 1863-1954.

Henry Lafayette Gillespie (1862-1954) was born in Iowa. He received his BD from Lombard Theological School and was ordained as a Universalist minister in 1896. He served pastorates in Ohio and Iowa. Gillespie retired from regular service in 1904, but continued his Universalist ministry through occasional service and mission work. He also authored "The Universalist Church and Freemasonry," a pamphlet published in 1910. He died in Manchester, Iowa, at the age of 91.

Universalist minister. Educated at Lombard College and Ryder Divinity School. Universalist home missionary in Iowa and Ohio. Ill health forced him to retire in 1909, and he returned to live on the family farm in Manchester, Iowa.
