Lewis, Elijah David, 1855-1936
Variant namesCivil War veteran and frontier scout; settled on Big Creek, in the Salmon River region of Idaho, about 1879 and patented a homestead there in 1924. Employed after 1910 as a predatory animal hunter for the United States Forest Service.
