James Henry McRae (b. Dec. 24, 1863, Lumber City, California-d. May 1, 1940, Berkeley, California), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1886. He served in the Spanish-American War and in the Philippines, and was commander of the 78th Division during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive of World War I. Later service included command of the V Corps, the Philippine Department at Manila, the IX Corps, and the II Corps.
