Clifford Harcourt Rees (b. 1909, Cynthiana, Kent.), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1932 and earned his pilot wings the following year. In 1944 he assumed command of the 307th Bombardment Group deployed in the Philippines, where he flew 24 combat missions in B-24s. At the outbreak of the Korean conflict, General Rees was commander of the 92nd and 98th Bombardment Wings, leading B-29s on eleven missions. In the early 1950s, he was chief of staff, 8th Air Force, then chief of staff, Allied Air Forces in Northern Europe, with HQ in Norway. In 1958 he took command of the Air Photographic and Charting Service, and he retired in 1962.
