Maude Anthony Koehler, a niece of Susan B. Anthony, was a co-owner of the Leavenworth times and a seasoned traveler until 1920, when ill health prompted her retirement to Los Angeles, CA. Although not personally active in the woman suffrage movement, her interest in national politics was keen and she took an active role in perpetuating the memory of her famous aunt.
