William Oscar Senter (b. 1910, Stamford, Tex.-d. Apr. 19, 2009), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1933 and received pilot wings a year later, transferring to the Air Corps. After completing a course in meteorology at MIT in the late 1930s, he served as a weather officer and weather regional control officer. During World War II, he was assigned to the Directorate of Weather, Army Air Force HQ; commanded the Army Air Forces Weather Wing; was staff weather officer, Far East Air Forces in the Philippines; and commanded the 43rd Weather Wing in the Philippines and later in Tokyo, Japan. General Senter became chief of the Air Weather Service in 1950. He was assigned as director, petroleum logistics policy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, in 1963, and he retired in 1966.
