Lenoir High School Band.
In 1921, Captain James Harper began his interest in the Lenoir High School Band of Lenoir, NC. Harper conducted the band from 1924 until 1958. The band ceased to exist when the Lenoir area schools were consolidated in 1974. In 1978, Davidson College became the recipient of an endowment set up by Harper. In 1997, a reunion was held for former band members.
