Charles B. Polhemus:

Came to California in 1849. Businessman & diplomat. He had interests in real estate, the commission and banking business, ranching and railroads in California. Served as Consul for Chile & Peru in San Francisco, 1850-60. Owned several ranches in the Santa Clara Valley.

George B. Polhemus:

Born Jan. 21, 1857, in San Francisco. Rancher near Coyote, Calif., known for prize herds of cattle and thoroughbred horses.
