Donald Nay was born in 1921 in Illinois and attended Lane Technical High School in Chicago. He enlisted in the Army March 18, 1942 and after completing Officer's training at Hondo, Texas, he was assigned as a Lt. to the 5th Air Force. Nay served as a navigator aboard B-24 Liberators, flying dozens of combat missions throughout the Southwest Pacific, including bombing raids over New Guinea. He was discharged June 14, 1945 and rejoined the workforce as a salesman at R.R. Donnelly in Chicago. He passed away in 1972.
