Miles, Daniel Lindly, ca. 1827-1862.
Miles had been a Washington, Tazewell County, Illinois railroad agent, and was a justice of the peace when he became lieutenant colonel of the 47th Illinois Infantry in August 1861. He married Ellen Wood on December 31, 1855 and they had 3 daughters. Daniel was killed at the Battle of Farmington, Mississippi, May 9, 1862. Ellen married T. Otley Brown on January 2, 1868.
