Leverton, Irene H., 1927-
Native of Chicago, Illinois, aviator and business woman. One of the first group of women, now know as the Mercury 13, to successfully pass the medical testing for space travel during the 1961 "Women in Space Program" at the Lovelace Clinic. Member of Phi Theta Kappa, Civil Air Patrol and Ninety-Nines.
