Nelson, Rodney

Rodney Allen Nelson was born in 1941 at Fargo, N.D. He grew up at Fargo and Christine, N.D. After high school he attended several colleges without taking a degree. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 1960s. After military service he lived in San Francisco, involved in the anti-Vietnam War protests. He traveled extensively and began to write poetry, articles, plays and fiction. In 1978 he moved back to Fargo and became managing editor of the literay journal, Free Passage, and later, The Dakota Arts Quarterly. He has written a number of works, including Villy Sadness, Home River and Boots Brevik Saga.
