Peter Jacobs was an Ojibwa Indian who became a missionary around 1836.

Peter Jones was the son of a Canadian surveyor and an Ojibwa woman. He was a Methodist missionary to the Ojibwa Indians and published various works for use by and about the Ojibwa, including an Ojibwa translation of St. Matthew's Gospel.

William Lyon Mackenzie, printer, and politician who rallied for popular government in Canada.

Joseph H. Harris came to Canada from England in 1829 as the first principal of Upper Canada College. William Warren Baldwin came from Ireland to Canada in 1798, and was a lawyer, doctor, and politician.
