Fred Chappell is a poet and was a long-time professor of creative writing in the English department at UNCG, where he taught advanced composition, poetry, and fiction. Chappell has won numerous awards and served a 5-year term as poet laureate of North Carolina. Lee Kinard is the creator and host of the long-running local television program, The Good Morning Show, on WFMY-TV. During his career, Kinard also served as a weatherman and news anchor. Kinard received his BA, MA and Ed. D. degrees from UNCG.
