Vincenzo de Lalla (b.1883) was born in Tolve, Province of Potenza, Italy and came to the United States in 1898. He attended Columbia University College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1904. Thereafter, he owned a pharmacy in East Utica, New York. De Lalla had an intimate and long-standing acquaintance with important Italian American poets and writers including Arturo Giovannitti, Cesare Crespi, Nino Caradonna and Onorio Ruotolo.
