The Office of the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aids existed from 1952 to 1971, and was given administrative responsibility for admissions and for the entire student financial aid program in the College. The Dean of Admissions and Financial Aids was in charge of three closely cooperating offices: the Admission Office, the Freshman Scholarship Office and the Financial Aid Center. The Dean was also Chairman of two standing committees of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences: the Committee on Admission and the Committee on Scholarships and Financial Aids. The following individuals served as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aids: W.J. Bender (1952-1960) and F.L. Glimp (1961- ).
