The IUPUI Faculty Council is the faculty governance body of the university. With the formation of IUPUI in 1969, faculty governance bodies of the Purdue University-Indianapolis Extension campus and the Indiana University-Indianapolis Downtown Campus were combined under a new constitution. A number of committees made up of Faculty Council members undertake various tasks and oversee functions of the university. The Faculty Council Office provides administrative services to the body.
