South Butte Mining Company.
Incorporated in 1906 under the laws of the state of Minnesota, the company purposed to mine, work, and market various minerals and mineral products, as well as to buy, lease, and sell mineral lands. The company owned about 60 acres of ore-bearing land in Butte, Montana--transferred to it from the GN--which it leased out to several mining companies between 1906 and 1936. The company also purchased 2,171 acres in Itasca County, Minnesota, in 1915. Corporate dissolution was completed in 1942.
