Douglas Trezise was vorn in ironwood, Mich. in 1925. After 3 1/2 years of military service during W.W. II, he obtained a degree in engineering from Michigan State University in 1949. A resident of Owosso, he served on the Charter Revision Commission, City Councilman, and Mayor. As a Republican, he was elected to the State House in 1970 and 1972. He was defeated in 1973 election for the state's 30th District senatorial seat. While representing the 87th District, he wrote a weekly newspaper column and had a radio broadcast each Sat. on WOAP, Owosso. He is best known for his membership on the controversial Northwestern Highway Extension subcommittee.
