Day family.
The principal members of the Day family were: James Lawrence Day (1814-1854), a doctor from Morristown, NJ, who became Physician for the American Colonization Society of Liberia in 1840 and U.S. Agent to the West Coast of Africa in 1843; and his daughter, Elizabeth Hibler Day Howell (b. 1850), who collected information about her father.
