On April 14, 1931, Henry Ford, with son Edsel, drove the 20 millionth Ford automobile off the assembly line. In the past, the company had used milestone cars for promotion and publicity so it is not strange that the company decided to send the 20 millionth car on a nationwide publicity tour. The car traveled as far south as Texas, north to Wisconsin, east to Kentucky and Tennessee and west to Los Angeles. It created interest wherever it went and attracted not only the general public, dealers and salesmen but also city and state officials and such luminaries as Douglas Fairbank, Sr. and cowboy movie star Bill Cody. (not to be confused with Buffalo Bill). Stuart Goodspeed was one of the drivers on the tour and he assembled this collection of photos. Besides the photos of cities and small towns there are also scenes of the country the car passed through and shots of the drivers.
