Established by the Board of Trustees on 16 June 1892, the Committee on Books was responsible for the selection and purchase of all library materials.
Between 1887 and 1892 Trustees Eliphalet W. Blatchford and William H. Bradley met with Librarian William F. Poole for the purpose of discussing and selecting books to be purchased for the Library. Notes and book lists from these meetings are in the Minutes of the Board of Trustees (02/01/30).
