Independent Order of St. Luke
Variant namesThe Independent Order of St. Luke was an African-American fraternal organization originally created to provide for the sick and aged and for the burial expenses of members. In the twentieth century the order became a mutual benefit society with extensive business interests, including an insurance company and bank.
