Weygandt, Cornelius Nolen, 1832-1907
Variant namesCornelius Nolen Weygandt was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1832, the son of Thomas Jefferson Weygandt and Sophie Makins Helmbold Weygandt. He married Lucy Elmaker Thomas. His interests included the classics, art, theater, history, and genealogy. Weygandt began his career as a clerk at the Western Bank in Philadelphia (later the Western National Bank), was appointed Cashier in 1863, Vice President in 1878, and President in 1887. He served as president for twenty years, until his death in 1907.
