Johnson Steel and Wire Co.
Worcester Wire Works founded 1919; reorganized in 1926 as Johnson Steel and Wire Co.; plants in Worcester, Mass., and Akron, Ohio; noted for tire bead wire and high-carbon wires; sold to Pittsburgh Steel Company in 1947 which merged with Wheeling Steel Corporation in 1968 to become Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.
