Mary Jackson Dade Conway (1789-1865) Married Edwin Conway in 1806. The Dade family history in Virginia begins with the four sons of John Dade and Frances Townshend: Robert, Francis, Townshend and Cadawalder. Francis died in 1662 at sea. Townshend Dade married Elizabeth Dade, his cousin, and had a son, Cadawalder. Cadawalder's son, Townshend Dade, married and had a son, Francis Langhorne Dade, born 1791. Francis L. Dade served as a lieutenant in the War of 1812. He and Mary Jackson Dade Conway grew up together. Francis L. Dade died in 1835 while fighting in the Second Seminole War (also known as one of the Florida Wars) in Florida.
