Born in Watertown, Mass., September,1754; was sergeant at battle of Lexington, 1775; captain, 1791 Major, 1793; came to Detroit with Anthony Wayne, 1796; ordered to Fort Wayne, 1798; wounded in several battles; commendant in Detroit, 1800; became lieutenant colonel, 1802; colonel, 1803; transferred to St.Louis, Mo. , 1805; died at Bellefontaine, Mo. Aug. 18, 1808. He married Eunice Wellington and had eleven children, among them Ruth Fessenden, Henry Jackson, John Elliott, and William Brown Hunt. (from Denissen. ; Reading rm.
