Osborn, Andrew D. (Andrew Delbridge), 1902-1997
Variant namesA librarian, Osborn was on the staff of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Library, later the Commonwealth National Library, from 1920-27. He worked at the New York Public Library and for the United Nations and was later Deputy Librarian, Harvard University from 1942-58. He was Librarian, University of Sydney, from 1959 until 1962, when he was appointed Professor of Librarianship, University of Pittsburgh. He wrote many papers on cataloguing and processing and his book on serials was studied by thousands of library students.
